“Brutalist Couture” by Olesya Parfenyuk
In this photo story by Olesya Parfenyuk, featuring Riley Woodell wearing AISTILCA, presence feels both deliberate and estranged.
There is a refusal of ease in both garment and gesture. Movement is reduced to the minimum, as if the body were learning to exist within imposed limits rather than through freedom. The silhouettes rise, monumental and distant, echoing structures built to endure rather than to adapt. Set against spaces shaped by time, the figure becomes suspended between permanence and decay—present, yet untouchable. In this tension, identity feels less performed than contained, held just at the edge of becoming.
