Memory is unreliable. It fractures, distorts, and fades, leaving behind only fragments. Some are sharp, while others dissolve like mist. For Fall/Winter 2025, Void Studio explores this ephemeral terrain with “Paramnesia”, a collection shaped by the tension between remembering and forgetting. Each piece is a reconstruction of what has been lost, a way to hold onto those who have drifted beyond reach.
Designer Kyle Wong envisions every garment as a silent guardian, a protective layer that embraces the absent and preserves their presence even when distance has rendered them intangible. This season is a tribute to those who have left, an offering of warmth to those forging new paths far from what once was home. Layering becomes a language of preservation, embodying the weight of accumulated moments and the quiet comfort of an embrace that endures. Patchwork, a defining motif of the collection, represents the act of piecing memory back together.
“This season is inspired by fragments of memory—those moments and pieces that have shaped my life. I often imagine each garment being worn by someone I cherish, offering them warmth and protection even when time and distance separate us. Somewhere along the way, I’ve realized that I’ve gradually lost many precious memories. Friends come and go, and once close connections have slowly faded with the passing of time.
FW25 tells a story of longing and hope—a heartfelt tribute to those who have ventured far from home, wishing them happiness and stability in their new lives. This season highlights layering and patchwork as design elements, incorporating thoughtful considerations of practicality and functionality. The layered details represent an embrace, symbolizing the warmth of holding onto those we miss, while the patchwork reflects the fragments of memory being pieced back together. Each garment stands in for me, accompanying those I hold dear and transcending the boundaries of time and space.”
