From Rick Owens: “For training, we introduce an Adidas x Rick Owens high-performance and affordable technical running shoe scheduled for 2027 release.

I also asked Adidas to provide us with their Climacool system technology, shown here in inflated jackets and shorts with interior fans, which, when combined with an ice vest, create a personal air conditioning system with the goal of cooling a runner’s torso as much as possible before a race starts.

I admire Adidas’ ambitious environmental goals, having been named to the CDP Climate A List for the second year in a row and placing among the top 4% of companies scored globally. I’ve always said that while we still have a ways to go confronting the environmental crisis, we can all start somewhere and aim higher.

Trim jogging suits come in traditional poly-cotton technical jersey or are fetishized in lightweight black or flesh-toned leather or women’s nude-colored girdle fabric, knit from recycled nylon in Germany and then dyed and finished in Lombardy, Italy.

Authoritarian epaulets felt ham-fisted for fall but just right for spring. Epaulets are a symbol of authority and trust—like an emperor… or an airline pilot. Or a cruise boat captain…

Coats and jackets with removable leather epaulets come in a lightweight silk/cotton poplin, woven in the Como region of Italy, known for its heritage of silk production. Sharp-shouldered tailoring is also executed in compact silk crepe, woven with hightwisted crepe yarns by our regular collaborator Bonotto, a 4th-generation textile mill founded in 1912, situated just below the Prealps in Veneto, Italy.

Swollen and bloated cabans are constructed in duchesse, woven with dense, recycled polyester yarns… or crisp and light silk duchesse. The weight and complex construction of these fabrics requires a slow weaving process, with the result of vintage looms producing only 25 meters of fabric per day in Como, Italy.

Sheer tank tops that read as 1920s beaded lingerie are produced by Paris rubber mistress Matisse Di Maggio and are in hand-piped latex (like decorating a cake)—each garment taking 35+ hours and 4 hands to complete. Latex capes are crafted by Florence Druart of Torture Garden Latex, London.

Tensegrity chaps in foam and latex are hand-constructed by Straytukay, another regular collaborator. Tensegrity, a term coined by Buckminster Fuller in the 1960s, refers to a structural system of isolated components under compression inside a network of continuous tension. Tensegrity structures are found in both architecture and nature, as in the human body, bones are held in compression while the connective tissues are held in tension.
