Julius’ “[garden;]” collection, featuring an ongoing collaboration with Fangophilia and Dual Flow, explores decay and renewal within its signature brutalist aesthetic. Designer Tatsuro Horikawa blends organic disorder with rigid structure, crafting a world where raw materials and avant-garde design converge.

Deep blacks, muted greens, reds and rust tones dominate, with elongated coats, knitwear and distressed leather forming an apolcaliptic yet poetic wardrobe. Asymmetric and deconstructed silhouettes emphasize movement and tension within the collection.

Textures shift between coated fabrics, leather, faux fur and cotton, balancing resilience and fragility. Accessories include leather boots, gloves, soles, balaclavas, and intricate jewelry by Fangophilia and Dual Flow, reinforcing the collection’s utilitarian edge.

“[garden;]” is no utopia but a dialogue between destruction and creation, where urban decay meets refinement. More than clothing, it is a statement on survival and adaptation.

ABOUT JULIUS

Founded in Tokyo in 2001 by Tatsuro Horikawa as a means to presenting film projects, the Julius label eventually developed its clothing line in 2004. Using black and grey as the main components of every collection – symbols of madness and pain, respectively – the label centers around Horikawa’s love of art and architecture, which were integral to the brand’s initial formation as an art project.
