Agnoli SS27 “Ikarus”
In the captivating Greek myth, the story of Icarus and Daedalus intertwines the ingenuity of design with the tragedy of unrestrained desire. Daedalus, a master craftsman, builds wings made of feathers and wax to escape the prison of Crete alongside his son. Before taking flight, he warns Icarus not to fly too close to the sun.
However, driven by ambition and the desire to rise ever higher, Icarus ignores his father’s warning. The heat melts the wax of his wings, leading him to a fatal fall and transforming him into a symbol of uncontrolled aspiration and the limits of the human condition.
After his death, the psyche of Icarus emerges in the form of a moth and embarks on a tortuous journey toward the underworld, filled with uncertainty and the fear of not knowing his final destiny. In that dark realm, he is received by Hades, who recognizes the sacrifice of Daedalus: the father who renounced his own freedom for the well-being of his son.
