For Pre-Spring 2026, Julius introduces “[numinous;]”, a collection that continues the brand’s exploration of form, texture, and atmosphere, this time through a quieter, more introspective lens. While previous collections leaned heavily into industrial aggression, “[numinous;]” shifts toward restraint without abandoning the label’s core aesthetic.

The silhouettes remain elongated and layered, with flowing pieces, oversized architectural outerwear, tailoring, and sharply cut or wide-leg trousers forming the foundation of the collection. There’s a strong focus on proportion and volume, achieved through asymmetry and overlapping fabrics.

Materials are key to the mood of the season. Coated denim, shiny fabrics, leather and semi-sheer drapes create visual tension between structure and fragility. The garments feel utilitarian, but there’s an underlying sense of calm that sets this collection apart from the harsher edge of past seasons.

Accessories add depth without overpowering the looks. Heavy-soled leather boots, sculptural gloves, and belts with bold metal buckles, reinforce the collection’s experimental but functional spirit.

With “[numinous;]”, Julius offers a more meditative take on its usual visual language. It’s still dark, still layered, still rooted in the aesthetics of dystopia—but here, there’s a space for reflection. The result is a collection that feels purposeful, balanced, and quietly powerful.

ABOUT JULIUS

Founded in Tokyo in 2001 by Tatsuro Horikawa as a means to presenting film projects, the Julius label eventually developed its clothing line in 2004. Using black and grey as the main components of every collection – symbols of madness and pain, respectively – the label centers around Horikawa’s love of art and architecture, which were integral to the brand’s initial formation as an art project.
