On September 1 2025, as part of Moscow Fashion Week, Pirosmani Studio presented its new collection, “Raw Sculpture”, in the underground parking space of Zarayadye. The collection was filled with complex forms, black, and an “artfulness” that carried a powerful message.

In creating the collection, techniques such as hand-painting on fabrics, graphic prints, embroidery over prints, complex deconstructive forms, sculptural objects, and painting directly on garments were used.

Among the artistic methods employed were numerous prints applied to the fabric pieces before tailoring. A new and unusual technique called “dirty embroidery” was also used. It consisted of numerous zigzag stitches that could take the shape of circles or abstract figures. Often, this method incorporated the loop of an unrelaxed machine thread, which added an artistic look to the technique and created an additional tactile effect.

The knitwear pieces in the collection were thin, fluid, and twisted — connected not only with seams but also knotted together. Knit blouses were created directly on the mannequin, making them unique, one-of-a-kind objects.

Outerwear was multilayered, with the top layer artistically “falling apart,” like cabbage leaves.

“Raw Sculpture”, followed the brand’s main concept — Antipodium, which proclaimed independence from trends and seasons, and presented fashion as art. The year marked the brand’s 20th anniversary — two decades of searching for forms, states, rhythms, and contours.

ABOUT PIROSMANI STUDIO

Pirosmani is a Russian fashion brand founded in 1999 by designer Jenya Malygina. It resembles a beautiful dark romance with goth elements, draping, and exquisite abstract prints combined with oversized tailored pieces.

The concept Antipodium: “No fashion, no trends, no season” is the basis of the fashion house. The brand Pirosmani is proud to have freedom from such conventions as seasonality or following trends, because each model is consistently recognizable and always relevant.
