Julius’ Fall–Winter 2026 collection, “[valis;]”, is built around the idea of perceptual recalibration. The collection articulates fragmentation and continuity through proportion, surface, and layering. Each look reinforces a controlled disruption within an otherwise rigorous framework.
Silhouettes oscillate between compression and expansion: sculptural shoulders, elongated coats, dense leathers, and draped layers construct bodies that appear simultaneously armored and exposed. A restrained, nocturnal palette, interrupted by deep reds, anchors the collection in material density. Warped tailoring, asymmetrical closures, and protective outer shells layered over fluid understructures establish a vocabulary grounded in construction.
Material contrast defines the collection’s structure. Dense outer shells, elongated coats, and sculptural tailoring are offset by fluid interiors and gathered volumes. Through this structure, “[valis;]” defines the body as a constructed presence shaped by compression, protection, and exposure.

The brand frames the collection in the following terms:
Light arrives before consciousness
reality is quietly recalibrated
its fractures flicker at the edge of sight
Not sacred, not synthetic, a presence diffused through the bones of the cosmos.
ABOUT JULIUS
Founded in Tokyo in 2001 by Tatsuro Horikawa as a means to presenting film projects, the Julius label eventually developed its clothing line in 2004. Using black and grey as the main components of every collection – symbols of madness and pain, respectively – the label centers around Horikawa’s love of art and architecture, which were integral to the brand’s initial formation as an art project.
