“Stern Bird Morphing”
“Stern Bird Morphing”, explores a gradual transformation toward a stern, austere avian figure. The garments suggest a state of becoming rather than a fixed silhouette, oscillating between structure and erosion, control and organic expansion.
Saraí Fenrings is a French photographer based in Paris. She is driven by visions of forgotten worlds through a strong aesthetic that combines inspiration from the past and the future. This photo shoot explores the primitive forms transmitted by Fanny Torchard and the imaginary universe of Saraí Fenrings.
Fanny Torchard is a Paris-based textile designer working from raw material to final form under the name Ssyncrtsm. Her practice unfolds through a synthesis of processes, references, and matter, resulting in a strictly monochrome language where craftsmanship meets organic growth and rusted industrial residue. Forms remain ambiguous and restrained, while surfaces are defined by dense, highly articulated textures.
The textile work combines artisanal felt made from merino wool and synthetic hair with cotton thread “roots” wrapping around leather strips dyed with natural inks. Lamb leather fragments, also treated with natural dyes, are integrated into linear knitted structures. Rusted metallic waste is embedded through embroidery, reinforcing the tension between softness and abrasion, growth and decay.
