Our editorial process is deliberate and research-driven, and we encourage contributions that reflect depth, clarity, and thoughtful observation.
What We Look For
• Editorial Features
Analytical essays, critiques, designer profiles, and cultural pieces that examine fashion through artistic, material, or conceptual lenses.
• Interviews & Studio Visits
Conversations that offer insight into process, intention, and the evolution of a creator’s work.
• Visual Submissions
Photography, lookbooks, fashion shows, and studio-based imagery that prioritize composition, craft, and storytelling. We welcome submissions from emerging photographers and designers whose aesthetic sensibilities align with our publication.
General Requirements
• Originality
All submitted work must be original and, preferably, previously unpublished. We also ask that submissions are not simultaneously under review at another publication.
• Tone & Approach
We do not publish promotional writing or advertorial content. Submissions should prioritise sincerity, analysis, and cultural context over marketing language.
• Accuracy & Research
Any historical, technical, or cultural references must be accurate and verifiable. We value writing that demonstrates a clear understanding of its subject.
• Length
We accept pitches and drafts ranging from short-form commentaries (500–800 words) to longer analytical pieces (1,200–2,500 words). Visual submissions may vary.
How to Submit

1. A short introduction (who you are and the nature of your submission).
2. A brief pitch or draft outlining the core idea of your article or project.
3. For visual work: a selection of low-resolution previews or a portfolio link.
4. For writing: a short sample of previous work, if available.
Editorial Review Process
We review submissions with care and respond as soon as possible. Due to our intentional publishing pace, not all submissions will be accepted, but every pitch is considered thoughtfully.
If your piece is selected, it may undergo an editing process focused on structure, clarity, and alignment with Iconia’s editorial standards.
Rights & Usage
Contributors retain ownership of their work. By submitting, you grant Iconia Avant-Garde the right to publish your piece across our digital platforms, with proper credit and attribution.
