Iconia Avant-Garde welcomes submissions from writers, photographers, designers, and other creatives working in avant-garde fashion, craft-based design, and contemporary visual culture. We look for work that is well developed, clearly articulated, and grounded in research or clear conceptual direction.
What We Look For
• Editorial Features
Essays, critiques, designer profiles, and cultural writing that examine fashion through artistic, material, or conceptual perspectives.
• Interviews & Studio Visits
Conversations that offer insight into process, intention, and the evolution of a creator’s work.
• Visual Submissions
Photography, lookbooks, fashion shows, and studio-based imagery that prioritize composition, craft, and storytelling. We welcome submissions from emerging photographers and designers whose aesthetic sensibilities align with our publication.
General Requirements
• Originality
Submissions must be original and preferably unpublished. We also ask that submissions are not simultaneously under review at another publication.
• Tone & Approach
We do not publish promotional writing or advertorial content. Submissions should prioritize analysis and cultural context over marketing language.
• Accuracy & Research
Any references to history, technique, or cultural context must be accurate and verifiable.
• Length
We accept short-form texts (500–800 words) and longer features (1,200–2,500 words). Visual submissions are flexible in format.
How to Submit
Please send the following to info@iconiaavantgarde.com:
1. A short introduction
2. A pitch or draft explaining your idea
3. For visual work: a portfolio link or selection of images
4. For writing: a sample of previous work (if available)
Editorial Review Process
We review all submissions carefully and respond as soon as possible. Due to the volume of submissions, not all pitches can be accepted.
If selected, your work may be edited for clarity and alignment with Iconia’s editorial standards.
Rights & Usage
Contributors retain ownership of their work. By submitting, you grant Iconia Avant-Garde permission to publish it on our digital platforms with full credit.
