Lunar Laboratories, the avant-garde Romanian brand founded in Bucharest, delivered a powerful presentation at Moldovan Brands Runway 2024 with its latest collection, “Observer.” Known for pushing boundaries with its alternative aesthetic and commitment to experimentation, the brand presented pieces that embody a dark, futuristic vision of fashion. This collection, an evolution of their aerospace-inspired design, showcased Lunar Laboratories’ unique fusion of art, functionality, and innovation.
Under the creative direction of Vlad Vraciu, Lunar Laboratories takes inspiration from his previous career in aerospace engineering, translating the precise lines, shapes, and layers of aircraft dynamics into ready-to-wear pieces. The brand’s distinctive approach was on full display at MBR, with garments that fuse structural volumes, textural experiments, and deconstructivist elements, all while maintaining a distinct architectural construction. The result was a bold, forward-looking statement on the future of fashion, where functionality and design intersect seamlessly.
“Observer” marks the latest chapter in a journey that has generated great interest since the brand’s debut in 2022 with “S2.” Previous collections like “Ametsa331,” “Past Resilience,” and “Blindfolded” have each symbolized metaphorical missions to the Moon, reflecting the brand’s concept and Vraciu’s own creative evolution. These collections have been presented at international runways, including Paris Fashion Week in 2023 and 2024, Berlin Fashion Week in 2024, and Milan Fashion Week in 2024
